Could carrots help cut construction's carbon footprint?

Lancaster University researchers have used nanoplatelets extracted from carrot fibres to strengthen concrete mixtures, reducing the amount of cement required and potentially helping cut the construction industry's carbon footprint. Jim Drury reports.
